In 1-4, Russia'S Imports From The Commonwealth Of Independent States Increased By 52.4%.

In May 16th, Russia's Interfax news agency reported that Russia's imports from CIS countries increased by 52.4% in 1-4 months in 2008.

Russian Federation Customs Department statistics show that Russia's imports from the Commonwealth of Independent States in 1-4 months, an increase of 52.4% over the same period last year, reaching 66 billion 830 million U. S. dollars.

Russia's imports from CIS in April this year amounted to $19 billion 750 million, an increase of 6.2% over March this year.

Import and export of electromechanical products increased by 3.2% to 10 billion 900 million US dollars; imports of chemical products increased by 11% to 2 billion 900 million US dollars; imported food and its original growth increased by 5.3% to 2 billion 400 million US dollars; imports of textile products and shoes decreased by 10.1% to 790 million dollars.

Russia's imports from the Commonwealth of Independent States increased by 56.6% in April 2008 compared to April 2007.
